More about Amber

Amber Garvey brings 30 years of service in public education to our team. Recently retired from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, she served as the Content Development Lead for Rethink Education, overseeing the development of standards-aligned and accessible online content in the areas of Reading, Math Science and Social Studies for K-8 schools in the state. She is an instructional designer with experience in accessibility, technology integration and learning management systems.

Prior to her time at NCDPI, she supported Henderson County Schools as a district-level Instructional Technologist. Amber has also served as a classroom teacher, technology integration specialist, web designer, Learning Management Systems administrator, video editor and national and state-level conference presenter. Throughout her career, she has used her expertise in instructional design and her experience as a Google Certified Trainer to support teachers in their professional development towards the seamless integration of technology as a tool to support the curriculum.
