Jackie Ellis,
Director of Large District Partnerships
Jackie Ellis is a retired educator with 30 years of dedicated service in North Carolina's public school system. She concluded her career as the Chief of Schools for the Wake County Public School System, following impactful roles as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Western Area Superintendent, and Middle School Director. Prior to her tenure in Wake County, Jackie served as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Area Superintendent of Teaching & Learning in Durham Public Schools. She also held leadership positions as a middle and high school principal in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.
Jackie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education from East Carolina University, where she was recognized as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. She further advanced her education with a Master of School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, also earning the distinction of North Carolina Principal Fellow.
In addition to her extensive career, Jackie serves as a member of the NC Teaching Fellows Advisory Board, continuing her commitment to fostering excellence in education and supporting future educators. Her dedication has made a lasting impact on the communities she has served.
